We are relieved and overjoyed that all four of our friends have been released today!
They were handed over to the Red Cross in Baghdad and arrived back in Italy at 11pm. Simona Pari's dad Luciano, said "I wish to take this opportunity to thank you and to thank the entire Arab world, who proved their friendship to us."

I found out via the BBC website this afternoon I wept for joy. This is just the most wonderful news I could have hoped for. I just can't express how grateful I am for this wonderful news.

I am so happy you are safe and in the arms of your family now. I was very worried about your safety, but felt deep down inside that you would be safe. Nothing matters now...you should rest and regain the energy and vigor that led you to have such strong beliefs. You are an inspiration to so many. (per mio...et per tutto)...Thank you for raising awareness for Ra'ad and Mahnoaz, as well. Un Ponte was relentless and so honorable in remembering there were also two wonderful Iraqis that were kidnapped along with you. It terms of PR, this is so important to make awareness of the many many Iraqis that are kidnapped everyday but remain nameless. I appreciate your political stance after going through such an ordeal, too. You are examples of humanity that are indispensible for our betterment. Grazie mille! Liminal
